At PGGM, we offer three different traineeships. The Management Traineeship, the Financial Management & Analytics Traineeship and the Legal Traineeship. A traineeship at PGGM lasts two years and starts in September. Through our traineeships, we offer young professionals the opportunity to discover the possibilities within their field. You and your fellow trainees also take part in training modules and peer review sessions that help you with your personal development. A buddy and a mentor are allocated to you as well; they listen to you, offer advice and act as a sounding board. In summary, you are given all the support and freedom you need to grow as a professional!

Management traineeship 

During the Management traineeship, you learn about the PGGM organisation across all its facets. You have the option of rotating between the different units. Pension Services, for example, or Investments, Institutional Business, Finance & Control, Strategy, Business Consultancy, Marketing or Corporate Staff. There are currently many challenges and projects to which you can contribute as a management trainee. Such as the implementation of the new pension system and the collaboration between PMT, PGGM and MN. During your traineeship, you will get to know many colleagues across the organisation, which will help you build a good network. After your traineeship, you can continue to develop your career at PGGM as an innovation manager, a manager of a pension team or as an account manager.  

Financial Management & Analytics traineeship

If you have a background in Finance & Investments, Business Economics, Econometrics, Financial Economics or International Business Administration, you can opt for the Financial Management & Analytics Traineeship at PGGM, which acquaints you with the various departments within Investments. You gain an understanding of the entire investment and asset management process. This includes the front-office investment teams, risk management, strategy and investment administration. 

At PGGM, you learn the intricacies of sensible asset management and discover the responsibilities that come with it. You work in an international playing field characterised by a wide range of asset classes. In addition to the standard training programme, you will also sit the CFA exam (Level 1) as part of this traineeship. After completing the traineeship, you might, for example, go on to take up a role as an investor, risk manager or investment strategist at PGGM.

Legal traineeship

Are you a law student or a recent graduate looking to get your career off to a flying start? PGGM offers a unique Legal traineeship in which you can apply and further develop your legal knowledge.

As a trainee, you assist in the development and implementation of corporate governance structures, and are involved in drafting articles of association, regulations and policies. You advise the Executive Board and other stakeholders on legal obligations and best practices. In addition, as a legal trainee, you work closely with the compliance department to ensure that PGGM complies with all relevant laws and regulations. 

In the context of a pension administration organisation, knowledge of financial laws and regulations is essential. As a trainee, you gain an in-depth understanding of the legal aspects of financial products and services, including pensions, investments and financial reports. Furthermore, you are given the opportunity of working on due diligence investigations, drafting transaction documentation and overseeing the legal process in mergers and acquisitions.
