At PGGM, we constantly seek to make our business operations more sustainable and minimise our carbon footprint. In mid-2028, for example, we will be moving into a new sustainable head office in Utrecht: ‘De Nieuwe Tuin’. This is a redevelopment of an existing building, not a new building. Matching our standards for sustainability and job satisfaction.
Through the social value we deliver, we contribute to long-term value creation. In doing so, we focus on creating a positive impact in respect of SDG 1 (no poverty), SDG 3 (healthy lives and well-being) and SDG 13 (climate action).
Through our internationally active investment unit, Investment Management, we assume the role of an active shareholder with a focus on sustainability. We have also withdrawn our investments from companies that are no longer in alignment with our sustainability philosophy. We call this 3D investing: alongside risk and return, we also closely monitor sustainability.
